For those like myself who was wondering where did they get the character Alex Cross? Well...Alex Cross stems from a series of novels written by James Patterson.This character was previously portrayed by Morgan Freeman in Kiss the Girls in 1997 and Along came a Spider in 2001. When I first saw the preview of this movie I was like, "Yeah, got to have to see this film." However... This movie was very disappointing! Yes, it was a complete waste of my $20...And am N.B. Tyler Perry, if you're going to jump out your regular character please let that be a leap into a good role in a "good movie". And I didn't say great.."Just good" would be fine.
So on to my favourite part- dissecting this movie....I'll start first with the ending.
Okay so you hype your audience somewhat with intense scenes and a lot of action only to stop the fighting abrupt? *Scratch my head*...No!!!!!!! This made me feel like y'all were fighting for space with the scenes in the movie. This is not a newspaper this is a film on big screen. Better than that Marc Moss, Kerry Williamson (writers of this film) and Rob Cohen (director). We're in the 21st century, please get real. There are so many camera tricks that could have been used. That scene would have been more enjoyed if you had Matthew Fox aka Picasso fling back up over Tyler Perry aka Alex Cross' head. That would have looked real bad it would have been unexpected and it definitely would have shocked the audience's mind. This scene, where they kill Picasso was worse than the scene in Obsessed with Beyonce and the coo-coo secretary. But don't take my word y'all be the judge. Oh and p.s. I hate watching imitations especially when the original was lame.
On to the climax. Now clearly this hit man, Picasso is excellent at what he does (which is killing people) so why would he not have a gun or knife for back up?. I get that he likes pain so that explains the fight between Alex and him but professional 'paid' killers always have guns and weapons up their sleeves. Critique on Intro I missed the intro so I will not be able to critique that but judging by the end I think it is fair to say that that may have been crap too. Overall I just was not feeling this show at all. I don't know how the series of novels by James Patterson are but hopefully they are more interesting than the movie or attempt of a movie. I don't think the characters got into their roles enough. They did not really portray the pain/emotions of these characters. Like the scene with Alex wife dying was poor, not believable at all. Oh yeah and when he was at the church like really? Could they not have put tear drops in both eyes? A man whose wife got killed in front of him should be able to get a bucket full of tears at least. So I sniffed through the rubbish and I found some positivity. The killing scenes were awesome. Love love Matthew aka Picasso. My favourite line was, " If you're going after revenge, better dig two holes"-Love it! To the fullest! My Ratings: Do not waste money to go see this in any cinema theatre. I don't care who's paying!
In this romantic drama, two teenagers in love struggle to look past their differences. After the unexpected death of her mother, Sarah Johnson (Julia_Stiles) moves to Chicago to live with her father. Knowing no one at her new school and not at home in a gritty, inner-city high school, Sarah has trouble adjusting, but she soon becomes friends with Derek (Sean_Patrick_Thomas), who has talent and street smarts but a checkered past. Sarah was an avid student of ballet before her mother's death sidelined her studies, while Derek has some serious hip-hop moves, and their mutual love of dance leads their friendship into something deeper. However, since Sarah is white and Derek is black, they have more to contend with than the average high school couple; Sarah gets static from Nikki (Bianca_Lawson), Derek's former girlfriend, while Derek has to deal with his friend Malakai (Fredro_Starr), who is still deep in the thug life Derek is trying to avoid. Save the Last Dance was directed by Thomas_Carter, who previously examined the sociopolitical side of dancing in Swing_Kids. Mark Deming, Rovi.
In my opinion the movie portrays some of the struggles dancers go through with battling their personal life and dance life. As a "white girl" in the "hood" Sarah finds it hard to fit in with all the other students at school and also has difficulty finding friends until Shanell comes to her rescue.
Sarah starts hanging out with Shanell and her friends, and ends up having a crush on Shanell's brother Derek, who has a crazy ex girlfriend Nikki who does not like the idea of him being with Sarah especially her being a "white girl". They all hang out at a popular neighbourhood night club "Steps", which Derek realizes that Sarah doesn't have much dancing skills apart from ballet and decides to teach her. They both spend most of their time learning new moves and showing them off in the club and after spending so much time wit each other Derek also develops a liking for Sarah as well and they end up being the controversial couple.

FATHER OF THE BRIDE PART 2 Comedy Romance Family
As the title says, "Expect the unexpected"
Father of the Bride 2 has a little of everything and more. It's very hilarious and it has depth without being overly heavy on the audience's chest. Patrons are not left feeling sad or angry having exited the theatre doors. In addition, it successfully addresses all of the issues that occurred around this time and is still occurring in today's society in a light comical way, giving this movie soul. It gives people a glimpse into their lives, their friends' lives and relatives' lives. What I also love about this movie is that it can be enjoyed by all age brackets, the young, the old and the in between and will still be enjoyed 50 years down the road. Despite the fact that this movie hit the screens in December of 1995, many of the social issues highlighted are still prevalent today in 2012. There is still the issue of
People being sceptical to be examined by young doctors- "She looks younger than Annie" taken from the scene where his daughter goes into labour.
(very prevalent in Trinidad and Tobago) A person's name still defines their abilities and how people view them- "What kind of name is Megan".
The issue of homosexuality taken from the scene where Steve Martin aka George Banks hand lands on Martin Short aka Franck's private part.
The 'doggie' world in business depicted in the scene where he sold the house (to who I'm guessing is an Arabian man) and had to pay double to get it back because the man had tricked him into believing he and his wife were going to live there.
Family life issues- The problems facing married couples, those young now starting off and the elderlies who are entering menopause It addressed the issues of a new born in the family, how it changes the dynamics of the home and adds some strains to the marriage.
Although I have watched this movie 4x already, yesterday still felt like it my first. I would definitely highly recommend this show to the public. I really enjoyed it and y'all will too. Ratings: 3.5/5 Overall an interesting movie Here is a link. Click below to watch this movie now.
84 years later, a 101-year-old woman named Rose DeWitt Bukater tells the
story to her granddaughter Lizzy Calvert, Brock Lovett, Lewis Bodine, Bobby
Buell and Anatoly Mikailavich on the Keldysh about her life set in April 10th
1912, on a ship called Titanic when young Rose boards the departing ship with
the upper-class passengers and her mother, Ruth DeWitt Bukater, and her fiancé,
Caledon Hockley. Meanwhile, a drifter and artist named Jack Dawson and his best
friend Fabrizio De Rossi win third-class tickets to the ship in a game. And she
explains the whole story from departure until the death of Titanic on its first
and last voyage April 15th, 1912 at 2:20 in the morning.
After winning a trip on the RMS Titanic during a dockside card game,
American Jack Dawson spots the society girl Rose DeWitt Bukater who is on her
way to Philadelphia to marry her rich snob fiancé Caledon Hockley. Rose feels
helplessly trapped by her situation and makes her way to the aft deck and
thinks of suicide until she is rescued by Jack. Cal is therefore obliged to
invite Jack to dine at their first-class table where he suffers through the
slights of his snobbish hosts. In return, he spirits Rose off to third-class
for an evening of dancing, giving her the time of her life. Deciding to forsake
her intended future all together, Rose asks Jack, who has made his living
making sketches on the streets of Paris, to draw her in the nude wearing the
invaluable blue diamond Cal has given her. Cal finds out and has Jack locked
away. Soon afterwards, the ship hits an iceberg and Rose must find Jack while
both must run from Cal even as the ship sinks deeper into the freezing water.
Deep-sea explorer Brock Lovett has reached the most famous shipwreck of
all - the Titanic. Emerging with a safe believed to contain a diamond called
'The Heart of the Ocean', he discovers the safe does not hold the diamond but a
drawing of a beautiful woman wearing it. When Brock is later interviewed on TV,
he shows the drawing to the cameras, and a 100-year-old woman named Rose
Calvert living in Michigan recognizes the woman in the drawing - herself! On a
visit to Brock's explorer ship over the wreck, Rose tells her story of the
Titanic and its ill-fated voyage. Engaged to a would-be steel magnate, Caledon
Hockley, she boards the Titanic's first-class suites with him and her mother in
Southampton. Also boarding are Jack Dawson and his best friend Fabrizio De
Rossi, after a lucky poker game wins them tickets in steerage. When Rose
attempts suicide by jumping off the stern in third-class, Jack pulls her back
onto the ship... and a bond is forged between them as Jack is invited by her
into first-class the following day. Rose's mother and Caledon Hockley try
desperate measures to keep them apart. But that strategy goes out the window
when the Titanic collides with an iceberg, and due to a design flaw begins to
sink - despite being proclaimed 'unsinkable'. Now Rose and Jack must fight to
stay alive, but is young Jack already doomed because of his lower status as a
steerage passenger?
Titanic, the ship of dreams. Is also known as unsinkable, and it was
unsinkable on its departure on April 10th, 1912. And on its epic journey, a
poor artist named Jack Dawson and a rich girl Rose DeWitt Bukater fall in love,
until one night, their fairy tale love for one another turns into a struggle
for survival on a ship about to founder to the bottom of the North Atlantic.
Rose leaves her fiancé Caledon Hockley for this poor artist, but when the
Titanic collides with the iceberg on April 14th, 1912, and then when the ship
sinks on April 15th, 1912 at 2:20 in the morning, Jack dies and Rose survives
and 84 years later Rose tells the story about her life on Titanic to her
granddaughter and friends on the Keldysh and explains the first sight of Jack
that falls into love, then into a fight for survival. When Rose gets saved by
one lifeboat that comes back, they take her to the Carpathia with the six saved
with Rose and the 700 people saved in the lifeboats. The Carpathia immigration
officer asks Rose what her name is and she loved Jack so much she says her name
is not Rose DeWitt Bukater, but her name is Rose Dawson. She seen Cal looking
for her, but he does not see her, and they never ended up together, her mother,
Cal and friends of the family has no choice but to think that she died on the
Titanic. But in the crash of 1929, Cal is married, but then he put a pistol in
his mouth and committed suicide. So Rose is an actress in the 1920s, and now 84
years later Rose Calvert is 100 years old and tells her granddaughter Lizzy
Calvert, Brock Lovett, Lewis Bodine, Bobby Buell and Anatoly Mikailavich the
whole story from departure until the death of Titanic on its first and last
voyage, and then to Rose all Titanic and the real love of her life Jack Dawson
is all an existence inside of her memory, and Titanic is to rest in peace at
the bottom of the North Atlantic from 1912 until the end of time.
My Review of the movie
I have to
come clean. I love this movie. It has everything one could hope for when going
to the cinema: Romance, gorgeous costumes, amazing actors, history, terror,
tragedy, heroism and sacrifice.
To start,
the 3D in the underwater scenes, showing the battered, sunken ghost ship was a great
enhancement to the opening of the movie. As fish and plankton float in front of your
face, you get the feeling you are down there in the ocean.
Then of
course, there is the romance between Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio)
and Rose (Kate Winslet), which doesn’t need any
special effects as it is literally a rose blossoming before our eyes. The scene
where him sketches her like one of his "French girls" is still my favourite
scene in the movie. Jack smearing the charcoal on the canvass as he draws
lovely Kate in the nude is just as erotic as if his fingertips were touching
her actual body. This must be one of the best love scenes on film: It's steamy,
intimate, carnal and still PG-13
The real
fun of the 3D however, kicks in when the ship cracks against the devil of an
iceberg and the unsinkable does the unthinkable. The scope of the ship rising
up out of the water, hull cracking, with Jack and Rose hanging onto the railing
while other less-fortunate third-class passengers fall to their icy deaths is
breathtaking and makes great use of the technology. I felt as if I were on a
thrill ride, to the point where I had to keep reminding myself the actual
Titanic did sink on April 15, 1912, almost exactly 100 years ago. Titanic remains epic and beautiful
and the 3D gives it a 21st-century viewing experience. Great movie!
Before there was anything resembling social media; Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Blogger, Myspace, etc human beings had to find other means of expressing themselves. In this movie dancing was the choice and means of free and uninterrupted expression of one's emotions. Yet another timeless love story that appeals to all age groups no matter what century you grew up in.
It tells the story of a young sheltered hapless girl who falls in love and learns very quickly what responsibility is all about. It is a romantic drama set in the year 1963 about a young girl who falls in love with a dance instructor at a neighbouring camp.
She falls head over heels with him after just one sight of him doing what is termed as a "dirty dance" and makes it her duty to get close to Johnny. After sneaking around the resort and defying her family, Baby finally gets her opportunity to be close to Johnny and express the way she feels for him through dance.
One of the more resonating scenes in the movie was in the closing minutes of the movie when Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze) and Baby (Jennifer Grey) finally get their solo performance and they dance to Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes timeless classic "I've had the time of my life".
Not only is the music in this movie powerful, I also think that people don't understand the power and the resonating effect that this particular dance scene has had on how dance and sexual attraction are now portrayed in movies. It has set the tone for what an attraction between two people should look like and how it should be expressed. The effects of the lift that they perform at the end of of their dance number has been highly referenced over the years. My favourite adaptation can be seen in the 2011 romantic comedy "Crazy, Stupid, Love" when the two characters use the lift from the 1987 classic to diffuse the sexual tension in the room .
I love this movie because it has set the bar for what a physical and sexual attraction should look like in a movie without being inappropriate. It makes falling in love seem fun and exciting and intriguing. Baby and Johnny express themselves through dance and when they do, they are filled with such passion and raw emotion that you cant help but watch. This movie is as sexual as it can get without the characters actually having sex.
There are very few movies that you can say have had a great impact on your life or stays with you for a very long time and I believe that Dirty Dancing is one of those classic but not so typical love stories that never gets old. Johnny and Baby's love has transcended time to still be relevant and have as great an impact to this day.
I would definitely recommend this movie as a Must See!

MOVIES THAT MAKE ME GOAWWWWW I WISH THAT WAS ME :'(
It is always good to look at things with an unbiased and non judgemental view. In the movie The Notebook we find ourselves getting a voyeuristic look at true old fashioned, unconditional love at all its glorious stages. We first meet Noah (Ryan Gosling) and Allie (Rachel McAdams) as young teenagers just being introduced to a taste of love, then it takes us to the development and growth of love and finally to the point of blossom.

Though this movie may be hands down one of the best love stories ever portrayed, it did take its time to address one of the most common misconceptions made in life and in love. Can people from different world's survive and sustain love? Noah and Allie prove with this passionate love story that nothing beats love.
Noah was a young labourer who worked in a lumber yard whereas Allie was the daughter of some very rich powerful parents. There was a clear and very bold line highlighting not only their socio economic backgrounds but also the experiences that shaped their personalities.
Noah was a labourer and Allie was a carefree happy go lucky typical rich teenager with no problems. The movie was set in a day way before the creation of mainstream technology so Allie's greatest concern was probably some mud on her brand new shoes. Also because Noah was of the working class he would have an appreciation for working hard to get the things that he wanted and I think this is why he pursued Allie so tirelessly.
The best part about this movie is that the actors and the script of this production make the story BELIEVABLE!!!!!! The thing that turns me off in a movie most is the fact that you cannot relate to or believe in what the actors are saying or portraying. The acting of Noah and Allie in this movie made go "Awww I wish that was me" quite a number of times.
There was one particular scene in the movie that truly touched something in me. Allie and Noah are clearly at a crossroads in their relationship. Allie is grappling with the feeling of a lost love and also a new love found with Lon (James Marsden) her Fiance' and is clearly looking for answers from Noah.
The movie really raises the bar in the way that they tell the story of Noah and Allie as it is not unfolding in front the viewers eyes but rather being retold through the memory of an old lady who is suffering from Alzheimer's. If I hadn't looked at this movie a hundred times before, I'm sure that after looking at that scene I would have been intrigued to watch more.
This movie in my view is a great example of what happens when you follow your heart wholly and solely despite all obstacles in your way. This is one of the greatest love stories ever told with two of the greatest actors to ever enter Hollywood.
The Notebook is a romantic drama directed by Nick Cassavetes and released in 2004. The movie is told as a great love story being read by Duke (James Graner) to an elderly Alzheimer's patient Allie Calhoun (Gena Rowlands). The entire movie flashes back and forth between the early 1940's and present day in the Nursing home.
It follows the lives of two star crossed lovers Noah (Ryan Gosling) and Allie (Rachel Mc Adams). Throughtout the entire movie we see what appears to be the life of Allie the patient and Noah; the love of her life. We see them battling odds to be together, challenging Allie's strict classist mother and even enduring time and space to be together.
The excerpts that are being read to Allie by Duke at certain points in the movie seem to jog her memory on something that once was. In the flashbacks to the years surrounding 1940 we see a young vibrant Allie both in and out of love. We see her find love with Noah, move away from the same love with Noah, find love with Lon, rediscover her love for Noah and finally give up her love for Lon to be happy with Noah forever.
Though my summary may seem to make this movie clear cut and to the point it actually is not. It engages your mind, your heart and most of your senses. It takes us on a fantastic journey that we otherwise may not would have experienced first hand.
If you want to see first hand what is undying, unwavering, persistent, till death do us part love, this is the movie for you. Definitely in my top five favourite love stories of all times.
On a regular day I am not a big fan of action movies. I find a lot of the scenes look unrealistic and depend too much on computer graphics like shootings scenes, speed chase scenes, murders scenes etc...
But a movie like Taken 2 ... now this is an action movie worth Take-N in!
Having seen the first Taken there is NO way you will miss Taken 2. If you have to spend your last dollar spend it!
The story line is compelling and quite interesting despite it is grounded in a few "unrealistic fantasies". The overall theme/message emphasized throughout the movie is "If you don't want drama then stop creating it" which is also stated at the end when Bryan shoots his opponent in his head after having given him an opportunity to end on a peaceful note. It effectively shows how easy wars can start and how easy wars can stop if people really wanted to live good with each other. Be that as it may I still love watching Bryan Mills kill the bad guys. His character is awesome! He is a trained killer who clearly does not waste any bullets. When that bullet is launched bet your bottom dollar the bad guys are going to collect them. Moreover, what makes him even more "Sick/Real Bad" is that he moves alone, No back up- a thousand soldiers and police cars...Nothing. His only back up is his gun and bullets be it whatever country he's in.
And yes the MAJOR reason why I had to see Taken 2 is because I L-O-V-E Liam Neeson. He is soooooooooooo sexy. OMG! This old man is hottttttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No, just have a look at this man! GORGEOUS!!!!
As for Maggie Grace aka Kim...She definitely enhanced the climax when she was behind the wheel. The transition from Shy girl to "Dad tell me what to do!" was a good change and twist to the show. It gives the producer more playing ground if they were to create a Taken 3. Maybe they can have Kim and her dad take down the bad guys. Just food for thought...

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is a 2012 American action fantasy/ horror film based on the 2010 novel of the same name. The film was directed and co-produced by Timur Bekmambetov, along with Tim Burton.Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States, discovers vampires are planning to take over the United States. He makes it his mission to eliminate them.
The movie also looks like it is intened to portray that Abraham Lincoln was infact a vampire hunter before he became the US President and during his reign as the US President. The movie is full of action and in my opinion it was a great & very interesting movie! Everyone should watch it...............

Despite being a classic rags to riches story, this movie addresses a lot of issues that Black and Hispanic women face in the job world. Hispanics are already stereotyped as the perfect service men and women so that, when they attempt to advance themselves they are met with rejection both by the outside world and within their own community as with Marisa and her mother.
Another issue also addressed is the difficulties faced in interracial relationships. Even the person's involved second guess themselves as to whether or not they deserve someone outside of their race. Also the fact that he was of a different socio economic background also made it harder for both Marisa, her mother and some of the people around her to accept.
I would say in terms of making me go "Awwww I wish that was me" I would give this 5 awww's as it not only shows what could happen when you chase after your dreams whole heartedly but also the strength of true love and all that can be endured. Beside being a great love story it also shows the strength and determination of a young single mother whose dreams are recognised not only through hard work but also through the discovery of her true love. I would say this movie addresses some serious issues that women of colour face in this society everyday without the tone of the movie being heavy and too serious. If I had to rate this movie on a scale of 1 to 5 I would definitely give this movie a strong 4 and count it as a definite top ten must see romantic comedy's.
MAID IN MANHATTAN IN ONE MINUTE.
Maid in Manhattan is a Romantic Comedy that was released in 2002 starring Jennifer Lopez (Marisa) and Ralph Fiennes (Christopher Marshall). Just by the name , you can tell that there is a twist to the story. The story is centered around a Hispanic single mother who has a job as a maid in an high class hotel in Manhattan and a an esteemed Politician who is a guest at the same hotel.
As fate would have it Marisa is cleaning the room of a socialite who is also a guest at the hotel when her son Ty walks in with Christopher Marshall. Due to her attire and the circumstances surrounding their meeting he assumes that she is the socialite staying in the hotel and a whirlwind romance begins.
After initially meeting, Christopher Marshall asks his assitant to organise a meeting with Marisa the maid who initally introduced herself as Caroline Lane. To his surprise when Caroline shows up at the lunch it is not the same Caroline that he met previously and so commisions his assitant to find her.
The Head Butler in the hotel finds out what is happening and instructs Marisa to go out with Christopher and end the relationship if she wants to keep her job at the hotel and possible chances for promotion. Marisa agrees to attend the dinner and the interaction between her and Chris Marshall gave birth to one of the most iconic scenes in the movie.
Unfortunately after such a romantic night with Chris, Marisa does not end it and is spotted by Caroline Lane leaving Chris's room the next morning.
When the truth is revealed by the real Caroline Lane that Marisa had been posing as Caroline to Christopher, she is swiftly fired. Marisa's mother is very disapproving and angry with her over the entire situation and believes that Marisa had no right to be with a white man of his status in the first place.
After a couple weeks of bad press and them being separated ,Ty attends one of Chris's speeches and asks for a second chance for his mother. He leads Chris to her in the lunch room of the new hotel that she is working in and they share a passionate kiss.The movie ends with photos of magazines of them one year later still living happily ever after.
